The Late and Latest News
Sorry this weeks newsletter is late. A couple of technical issues, now overcome.
Moving along, it has been 50-years since the doors (or were they gates back then?) were first thrown open for a Brisbane Boat Show and now Marine Queensland has celebrated the show's anniversary in fine style.
We've got coverage of the show and the celebrations and as usual plenty more news to keep you occupied.
Down south (and out west, in Sydney's western suburbs) Shane Vella has secured the inaugural Formula 1 crown when the Australian Formula Powerboat Association completed its 20010 season
Like going fast? Well, have we got the boat for you. It's a Cigarette, a classic deep vee and it sports the most technologically advanced high-performance engines ever produced by Mercury Racing.
See how you like topping out around 130mph-plus (don't forget the plus!).
Colleague Jeni Bone has some good news from New Zealand with expansion and growth the buzz words at present, while over in the UK the powerboats P1 will combine with the renowned Southampton International Boat Show.
Speaking of boat shows (thought they were all over, didn't you?), in a few weeks Australia's third largest show (after Sydney and Sanctuary Cove), Western Australia's Mandurah Boat Show will erupt into action.
Bad news, there's been some dishonest people on the waterfront down in Victoria; good news, they were all caught by the authorities and appeared in court with various charges ranging from abalone theft to being in possession of commercial fishing equipment.
I like seeing transgressors ‘nailed', serves ‘em right.
Read on, hope you'll find plenty to peak your interest and keep in mind that we're ‘on the case' right through the week for regular updates.
