Tom Slingsby sailed into the lead in the 2010 Laser Worlds overnight. He now has three bullets in the qualifying series.

Talking to him after sailing he said ‘Today was very similar to sailing on Port Phillip Bay in a light sea breeze, nice waves, sunny, great day for sailing.'

We are doing it tough too – in Far North Queensland ahead of the Sunferries sponsored Magnetic Island Race Week. Nice trade breezes, it will be 27 degrees here today. We have one Melbourne boat who has come up just for this regatta and is then going to spend a couple of weeks in the the rest of the Palm Group.

You can expect to see more boats venturing north of the Whitsundays to Townsville and Magnetic Island in the future, its 135 miles north of Hamilton Island, tough but someone has to do it.
