Sail-World USA: 24 January 2010

Moths on Corio Bay - Audi Victoria Week McConaghy - KA Sails International Moth Victorian Championships   Andrea Francolini / Audi ©
Welcome to Sail-World.Com's US newsletter for 24 January 2010.

Key West 2010 is over for another year. We have full reports and images on the event, in this edition, along with the latest news from US Sailing's Olympic program.

Stay tuned to www.sail-world.com for reports and the latest news on the upcoming Rolex Miami OCR.

With just two weeks left to run on the clock before the start of the 33rd America's Cup, both teams are still trialling off Valencia.

USA-17 was out in 22kt winds the day before yesterday, not sure what speed she clocked, but we have a few images in this edition.

The war of words and Court actions continues, in this edition we have the latest state of the play.

Melges 32 - Key West Week 2010  © 2009 JOY | International Melges 32 Class Association

Reality is that this event is headed for oblivion unless the fundamental issue of origin of construction is sorted out before the Match starts. Sorting out an interpretation of the Deed of Gift and then applying it retrospectively is a complete nonsense.

There has been much comment over the Media Conference given by BMW Oracle CEO, Russell Coutts. In this issue we have the full transcript of that event - to save readers having to listen to the audio in its entirety. Some of latter parts of it have been edited out along with some of the more inane and repetitive questioning.
