In Hong Kong the local news is that the RHKYC boatyard is stuffed to the doors with F1 racing cars - sorry, boats. This afternoon there were two Extreme 40 cats in the water, two on the hardstanding, and two more waiting to slide out of their boxes. The (air) temperature is dropping like a brick, and if there were any oysters on the rocks in Hong Kong harbour they'd be hanging on tight. AND it's the RHKYC's 1010 Next GTM Around the Island Race this weekend (with Extreme 40s). It's going to be a cold and busy few days... watch this space...

Raja Muda 2009 - trying conditions continue AsianYachting.com,  There was no let up in the blustery stormy conditions yesterday. The racing class starts had to be delayed as the wave action on the beach in front of the Seaview Resort made it almost impossible to get out to the moored yachts. Rain, rain and more rain... RMSIR 2009 AsianYachting.com,  Reminiscent of the early regattas, lengthy downpours were experienced throughout the first passage race from Pt Klang to Pangkor Island. A heavily laden overcast sky and 6 to 8 knots of SW breeze at the start had crews grappling with close reaching sails and rapidly disappearing off into the distance.
