Sail-World New Zealand: 6 November 2009

Crowds pour into the 2008 Northland Boat Show at Marsden Cove   Marsden Cove
Welcome Sail-World.Com's New Zealand newsletter for 6 November 2009

Don't forget to get along to the ENTRY FREE Boat Show to be held at Marsden Cove on Saturday and Sunday.

Unlike other boat shows, the Marsden Cove show is geared to let you go out and test boats at the show. If you are in the market for a boat while interest rates are cheap, then now is the time to give yourself a treat and do some serious boat evaluation.

Of course, you can step aboard the boats and have a look around, or just stroll at the Marina.

Or, you can check out the options for marina living and enjoying the great dream of owning a property, with a marina at the bottom of the garden, plus your favorite boat, and be halfway to some of the best cruising, gamefishing and fishing grounds in the world.

Check out your dreams at the Northland Boat Show - opens at 1000hrs on Saturday and Sunday.

America's Cup news again dominates world sailing, with the aftermath of the dismasting of BMW Oracle Racing's BOR90/USA in San Diego, we have some video of the damage in this issue, plus a follow up story on 'where to from here' for the US Challenger.

Meanwhile America's Cup Legal continues apace, with Court Hearings set down for tomorrow (Friday in New York), and with the Expert Jurist panel expected to meet outside the Courtroom and deliberate. Again we background this story in this edition of Sail-World's newsletter. The developments will be updated as they happen on www.sail-World.com

BOR90's mast damage can be seen in the video in this edition

New moves overnight from the Swiss defender, Societe Nautique de Geneve with the offer of a third venue, off the east coast of Australia. The move is tagged, but must generally be seen as a positive one, and may well be way through the two year mire. We look at this option in more detail in this edition and will update with the reaction from Golden gate Yacht Club when it comes to hand.

You can submit your event/regatta/class/boat news by Clicking Here - all copy will be published, please include a photo or three with a side over 1280px wide. There's a new big icon on the home page of www.sail-world.com to make it even easier for you.

Many thanks for your help and input, we're here to help sailing, and help those who wish to help themselves.

Good sailing!

Richard Gladwell
NZ Editor
