Welcome Sail-World.Com's US newsletter for 13 October 2009

In this issue we sadly feature further stories and tributes to those lost from Shockwave 5off the New South Wales coast on Saturday morning.

As mentioned in our last issue Sail-World has announced the launch of another new site - Sail-World Canada - which is being operated by the publishers of three Canadian yachting and marine industry magazines. See the full story in this edition. We feature more on this significant development at a time when other publications are shrinking or shutting up shop altogether, and a very strong move for Sail-World into North America.

Day 3. Race 12 - iShares Cup Almeria.   ThMartinez / Sea & Co ©

In the Argo Group Gold Cup in Bermuda, Ben Ainslie has taken the title. In this issue we feature reports and images from the final day.

From Rochester NY, Rolex ISAF Sailor of the Year nominee, Anna Tunnicliffe reports on her crew's victory in the Rolex International Womens Keelboat Championships.

And in San Diego, USA - the Golden Gate YC's Challenger for the 33rd America's Cup has rolled out of the shed once again, apparently with substantial modifications to the hull and a wing mast. We have the official reports, plus the usual 'reading between the lines' commentary in this edition.

You can submit your event/regatta/class/boat news by Clicking Here - all copy will be published, please include a photo or three with a side over 1200px long. There's a new big icon on the home page of www.sail-world.com to make it even easier for you.

Many thanks for your help and input, we're here to help sailing, and help those who wish to help themselves.

Good sailing!
