Our Best Promotion says Laser manufacturer, the Jessica debate
According to Google, there are now many hundreds of thousands of searches for 'Jessica Watson'. A teen from the Sunshine Coast whose name was relegated to local page 10 news two weeks ago, is now the object of discussion over breakfast tables and water coolers the world over.
Nancy Knudsen, Cruising Editor of Sail-World.com who has herself has circumavigated the world, said in response to all the hoopla, 'I think the saddest thing is that, with all the pre-publicity, she and her family would face at the least, extreme embarrassment if she called the trip off now. With such a venture, one should always retain the ability to decide freely, without penalty, not to go ahead. I am sad that that seems denied to her now.'
As well as this riveting story, there are plenty more this week, Win A Laser has been our Best Promotion says Australian manufacturer. This is compulsory reading.
We have innovations in technology, eco-friendly propulsion and design from the Monaco Yacht Show, positive advances in algae-to-oil development, the cancellation of the Yacht and Boat Korea thanks to the fear of swine flu, record exhibitor numbers for METS in November and many other products and people making news.
Keep in touch with your news and views.
