Sail-World USA: 27 September 2009

Herreshoff - Riley and Chamberlain - 12 Metre Worlds Legends Forum 2009  Meghan Sepe
Welcome Sail-World.Com's USA newsletter for 27 September 2009

In spiritual home of the America's Cup, Newport, Rhode Island, the 12 metre Worlds have concluded. We feature reports on the event in this issue, with comments from the Legends Forum staged on the second day.

The first entry is in for the 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race, with an Italian team announcing they have purchased Ericsson 3. Our information is that the next edition of the Volvo 70 class rule will ensure that the existing boats are competitive, so there may be more campaigns like Italia 70, snapping up the existing fleet, then being required to do a new build as was the case for the last race.

You can submit your event/regatta/class/boat news by Clicking Here - all copy will be published, please include a photo or three with a side over 1200px long.

Many thanks for your help and input, we're here to help sailing, and help those who wish to help themselves.

Good sailing!
