Editorial July 15, '09.

A good deal...everybody looks for one and if that's you then you have definitely come to the right place.

Just check out what's on offer this week, from respected Aquapro inflatables, selling at up to 50 percent below retail at Family Boats, Blacktown, to a chance to win $5000 worth of berthing at any of the seven d'Albora Marinas.

If that's not enough to whet the whistle, bet your life there'll be deals galore at the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show just 15 ‘sleeps' away.

We preview what's happening at this year's show with its score of interesting attractions and easily arrive at the conclusion that you'd be mad not to make it to Darling Harbour.

In other news our top water ski racers go into ‘battle' this weekend at the 16th World Water Ski Race championships in Belgium, while on a picturesque Norwegian fjord our own Maritimo team takes on the world's best in the Class 1 Norwegian Offshore Grand Prix.

On a somewhat sad note, we also take a look at those people none of us want any truck with, thieves.

Theft of boats and theft of equipment from boats has long been a problem and I was particularly saddened to learn that stealing from moored vessels always peaks during school holidays!

So, don't complain to insurance companies if you think your premiums are too high, blame it on the low life characters who remain a blot on the horizon. However there are things you can do to reduce the incidence of theft. Defintiely worth reading.

Plenty more to read about from the world of powerboats, stick with us for all of the news all of the time.
