SIBS events, Raymarine hints at sale, Sail-World promo tops 3000!
As we brave the chilly start of winter, our thoughts turn to boat maintenance, boat shows and in many places on this wonderful island, boating with no real “off season”.
Next on the calendar is Melbourne Boat Show, 2-6 July, then Sydney at the end of the month. If you're intending to visit Sydney, or if you're an exhibitor, make sure to RSVP to the range of activities and events that stuff the program this year.
AIMEX will again host a reception for its members, the evening of Thurs 30 July and this year sponsored by Club Marine, there's the BIA NSW breakfast on Thursday morning and the fledgling women's group, MINNOWS will build on the success of the Qld event and gather at a gorgeous venue on Darling Harbour Friday 31, for a morning of glamour, networking and no doubt plenty of gas-bagging!
If you're a brand or marketing specialist, or concerned about propelling your company to the forefront during the economic downturn, look out for details of the “Hour of Power” event to be held Friday afternoon, onboard the luxury Dyna 77 in the marina. Organised by the PR-dynamo, Ben Sandman from Sandman PR, the event will feature guest speaker Rob Belgiovane, one of this country's most awarded and influential advertising creative directors from agency BWM, high profile media commentator and branding expert.
Watch this space for more!
Also this week, along with all the latest in global marine news – including Raymarine announcing it will need to raise equity or possibly sell the business, Riviera Syndication expansion to the Med and Perry Prestige strong response from the government's incentives for charter boat operators – Chris Caldecoat from Performance Sailcraft Australasia reports on the Win a Laser competition currently running on Sail-World.com
At last count over 3000 people had entered. The PSA factory has had to hire new staff to keep up with the demand it has generated. Not bad for an Australian manufacturer in the middle of a recession!
Have a great week and keep up the feedback! I am following up all the leads and tips and comments, don't worry!
