Three straight days of great breeze and sunshine does more for a regatta than any amount of pr hype, and right now the Top of the Gulf Regatta at Jomtien Beach is looking pretty famous. Actually, fabulous would be a good word as well. Racing starts at a civilised time (1100 hrs) and you can walk to your boat along a pontoon, and the camera boat - Bill Gasson's "Buzz Off" - is great. Magnificent. Must remember to come here again...

Top of the Gulf opens on flat water

China International Boat Show Charity Regatta 2009

The second running of this event broke records once again. Last year's event, the first charity regatta in China had 28 entries, at the time the biggest grass roots inland regatta in China.
