Editorial

Well, it's that time of the week again, time when you sit back and absorb all the power boating news that matters.

For starters, good old NSW is helping clean up Queensland, assisting the recovery along the Sunshine State's coast following that dreadful oil spill from the container ship Pacific Adventurer.

Across the ditch, there's been some hard-fought power boating competition as the Rayglass NZ Offshore titles heads for its final showdown and the conclusion of the NZ Powerboat Championships.

We have been fortunate in obtaining some excellent photographic coverage of both thanks to ace Kiwi lensmen Phillip Hoskyn and Greg Olsen.

We also have some early pix of a new Kiwi offshore powerboat. She is a 100 foot (31.5 metre) Craig Loomes designed, Profab Central Engineering in Palmerston North is doing the build.

Colleague Jeff Webster is here to help those who might be considering the purchase of a ‘pre-loved' boat with his latest publication and we preview what should be a birthday party to remember when the revered UK marque Cougar Marine celebrates its 40th anniversary in May.

And......they've been called ‘the last of the gentlemen racers', Austria's Hannes Bohinc and Italy's Giancarlo Cangiano, who will team up to contest the Powerboat P1 World championships which get under way over the weekend of May 9 and 10.

Where will you keep up to date with the exciting Powerboat P1 World championships? Where else but right here on Powerboat-World.com

Stop by during the week, too, because just like policemen we're never off duty and keep updating the site.
