Another week, another mix of interesting business pieces in our industry.
This week we roam the world, from NZ, where Sensation Yachts is facing demands by creditors, and the Wynyard Quarter development in Auckland is causing some concerns among the marine fraternity, to Ft Lauderdale and the launch of Leigh-Smith Cruiser's latest acquisition – the Chinese-made Endurance 650 ordered from Hampton Yachts.
There's an update on IBEX from the perspective of AIMEX, and a profile on the potential and progress of the latest addition to Sydney Harbour, Sydney City Marine's world class facility located adjacent to Sydney's Anzac Bridge at Rozelle Bay.
Also this issue, the next installment of How to Grow Boating. If you have any suggestions or ideas as to how to inspire the broader community to get into the marine lifestyle, just email me.
It's not quite the wisdom of Rupert Murdoch, but it has overtones of the world's most savvy media magnate: Kevin Rudd addressed media moguls on the Gold Coast yesterday and confessed that he is the only newspaper reader in his home. And his family is not unique.
As the appetite for 24-hour news increases, people are relying on the Internet for news and information, resulting in dramatic declines in newspaper circulations and the market share of other “traditional media”.
Of course, we at TetraMedia will bang that drum, because our readership and subscribers are growing exponentially and our advertisers are benefiting.
Please keep in touch with any news or feature ideas you'd like to see in MarineBusinessNews.com
