HOW COOL IS THAT? If graphics are what get you visibility, then the new VO70 Puma Ocean Racing built by Goetz Custom is going to take over the front page of every sailing publication in the world! But, ummm, do you want to go sailing in a shoe? This one? Yes!

The SOF Hyeres regatta is completely blown away - literally. Organisers called a dau off when the wind started gusting at 35+ kts. As one commentator noted, this is one Olympic classes regatta that is entirely useless where preparing for the Olympics goes!

The World Match Racing Tour 2008 has kicked off in Brazil, with reigning champ Ian Williams opening at 3-0 on day one. ANd if Classics are what you like, then look at the story on Ranger and Velsheda.

Sail World Asia will be in Keppel Marina, Singapore, for Boat Asia this coming weekend. We'll let you know what's floating down there...



WMRT veterans undefeated - Brasil Sailing Cup

Ian Williams (GBR) and his Team Pindar are showing their World Champion style, being undefeated among their five other rivals in Group A, while WMRT veteran Magnus Holmberg (SWE) shares the top of the leader board also on three wins after the first day of match race competition in the Brasil Sailing Cup.... Bakewell-White design a first ever for Korea

PUMA Ocean Racing moves to Newport Shipyard

What began at 4am under the darkness of night and a full moon, ended more than two hours later in the morning dawn. Following an arduous 20 mile trip, PUMA Ocean Racing's new boat for the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009 made its way from Goetz Custom Boats in Bristol, Rhode Island to the Newport Shipyard in Newport, where it will receive final preparations before going in the water.... Remaining two Clippers arrive in Santa Cruz

The two southern hemisphere teams were delayed leaving the Hawaiian island of Oahu due to essential work on their new rigs, after both yachts were dismasted in the previous race from Qingdao, China. The final bit of rig tuning will be carried out on the two 68-foot racing yachts tomorrow, so that both teams are ready for the race restart on Thursday 24 April.... [more]
