Sail World Asia was out of the door a bit early today, on the way to Taiwan to visit the Horizon yard on the occasion of the launch of their new 132-footer (which makes it officially a superyacht). There will be a story on our sister news website, Powerboat-World.com, just as soon as I've wiped the salt spray off the keyboard after tomorrow's sea-trial.
Meanwhile, congratulations to Singapore who beat Moscow in the final selection for the 2010 Youth Olympics. Now there's an event to to make Singapore sport more visible! And for the rest of us in Asia, great - it's on our doorstep!
The 18' skiff is one of the most spectacular sailing craft ever to go afloat, but it is not an ISAF-recognised class, so there is no World Championship. SB3's are already beginning to arrive in Sydney for the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta on 1st and 2nd March. Teams are trying to keep their training secret as the racing at the inaugural SB3 national championships held during Skandia Geelong Week was so close.
