Bar Crusher will have the Australian release of its latest 575XS at the Brisbane Boat Show at the Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23-26 August as more and more boating businesses see and yield the benefits of participating in boat shows.

Marine Queensland Events Manager Jason Plant said as well as an Australian release of the Bar Crusher there would be two Australian releases from Boston Whaler with 170 Dauntless and 230 Dauntless and more Queensland releases than has been seen at the Brisbane Boat Show for quite some time.
Adding to this, visitors will be able to see the Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12 for the first time. This was just released in the USA at the prestigious ICAST 2012 in Orlando, Florida, the largest fishing show in the world. The newest addition to the Hobie family was voted by the general public and the media as the show’s 'Boat of the Year', as well as, 'the Best of Show' beating every other fishing product of any type that was on display.
Sunstate Hobie’s Mal Gray said there would be a lot of excitement about this new model and would be the first time it has been shown in Queensland.
'We will have attended six shows this year because we can see the benefit in exhibiting our product to a niche market,' Mr Gray said.
'It makes sense that people interested in all things marine attend a boat show instead of exhibiting at say a general show and you can really feel the energy. We certainly can see an increase in sales and interest after attending a show.'
Marine Queensland data collected before, during and after boat shows clearly showed exhibiting played a vital role in reinjecting enthusiasm and excitement to the marine industry.
'Last year we launched the inaugural Mackay Boat Show with extraordinary results,' Mr Plant said.
'We knew this was a popular boating area with more boat registrations outside the Gold Coast than any other region – what we did not expect was boat registrations would increase by 300% after the show.
'That means not only did people visit the show but they followed through with a sale. We see similar trends in the South East corner of the State with peak boat registration months immediately following the key industry shows – Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Brisbane Boat Show. This confirms we are following the United States whose boat show research confirmed exhibitions certainly increase boating interest.

'A study conducted by the USA’s National Marine Manufacturers Association found boat shows remained a crucial part of the consumer’s boat buying process.
'In what NMMA is calling 'the largest study of its kind,' MSU surveyed more than 20,000 attendees across all of NMMA’s 2008 consumer boat shows.
'The results revealed 55 % of boat buyers attended a boat show within six months prior to their purchase.
Adding to that 65 % of survey respondents agreed attending a boat show actually increased their desire to purchase a boat.'
This does not surprise Stones Corner Marine’s James Cullen who said the Australian release of the latest Bar Crusher would really impress and where better to have an audience than at a boat show.
'The XS models were developed after enquiries from people around the country who wanted an open style 'crossover' model that could be used for both in shore and offshore trolling / lure casting / bottom bouncing,' Mr Cullen said.
'We really want boaties to get up close and personal with the latest model 575 XS and a boat show is the perfect place to do it. People do their research at show: they may not buy then and there but they get in their mind what they want and when they are ready they know where to come. We certainly see the value in showcasing our new products this way.'
