The Zephyr dinghy is an iconic New Zealand yacht that has been around for over 50 years. The first two hundred or so hulls (1 to 233) were personally built by designer Des Townson.
The 57th Nationals will be hotly contested by 54 sailors from all over NZ. This is the biggest fleet for some years. Nine boats come from Wellington, 1 Christchurch, 8 Tauranga. 1 Hamilton.
The open contest will be fought out between Tim Snedden ( defending champ) Grant Beck, Steve Pyatt, Greg Salthouse and Kelcey Gager.
The 60+ Masters will probably be between Phil Williams, Murray Sargisson and Colin Maddren.
The Ladies Championship will include Suzannah Pyatt, Carla, Holgate and Karleen Dixon.
