The start of the Auckland to Tauranga race has been delayed for at least six hours due to strong winds, predicted to be gusting to 60kts at the race start. The average wind strength at Bean Rock for the original start time of 1000hrs was predicted to be 35 kts gusting into the 60's. With the postponed start winds are expected to be a more sedate 23kts average, gusting to a more managable 35kts. ...
