Wired crushes the Auckland keelboat fleet again

The Bakewell-White 52’’Wired’’ has scored her second major win of the 2011/12 season SW
The Bakewell-White 52 'Wired' underlined her current dominance of the Auckland keelboat fleet with another crushing performance in the Balokovic Cup race, sailed in late February.
Rob Bassett and Brett Russell and their crew started the season with a clean sweep of the 120nm Coastal Classic taking line honours and a first on PHRF and IRC. Running a continual programme of small updates and improvements has seen this evergreen yacht continue to improve with age.
Wired’s grip on offshore and coastal events was further underlined by another clean sweep in the mid-season Balokovic Cup raced around Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf - a comfortable line honours victory, first PHRF and a horizon job win under IRC, all achieved without the benefit of tide and wind changes often seen in the closing stages of this event.
