News that NZ's Olympic gold medallists will be at the Stack Winter Champs, and a spectacular prize package donated by The Water Shed and North Sails, will make next week's Stack Winter Champs at Murrays Bay Sailing Club, more special than ever.

Divisional winners and placegetters will be able to shake hands with Olympic Gold Medallists Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie at the prize giving of the Stack Winter Champs and check out first hand the 470 dinghy that Jo and Polly sailed to Olympic glory.
The Olympic champions will be on the water competing too, both set to pair up with different sailing partners for a bit of fun.

The regatta is also pleased to announce a very special prize line up just for the Opti fleet.

This week Dan Slater, who competed in the London Olympics in the Finn Class, and who now owns The Water Shed specialist sailing store in Barry's Point Road, announced, in conjunction with North Sails, his support for the event in the form of a very generous prize package.

The first placegetter in the Optimist Open Fleet overall, will receive a brand new NZ Qptimist by Dan Slater to use for the year which includes a NZ Qptimist Hull on trolley with foils, buoyancy bags and Harken fittings

There are some conditions: that the prize winner must be eligible to compete in the 2013 New Zealand Optimist Nationals, be intending to compete in the majority of the 2012/2013 Opti season regattas, and be Sailing for an Auckland Club, training in Auckland, and not be committed to any other boat or sail manufacturer.

The Water Shed/ Neil Pryde Sailing gear prize for first Female Optimist Open Fleet is a great Neil Pryde Sailing Gear package including a wetsuit, rash top, spray jacket and buoyancy aid, and first in the Green Fleet will receive, from The Water Shed, a Magic Marine spray jacket and Rash top, and a Little Hawk windicator.

Entries are now being accepted both for racing on 5, 6 and 7 October. Youth sailors from all clubs are invited. Visit www.murraysbay.org.nz
