Sydney to Gold Coast Race begins!

A strong fleet of 50 will be racing in the Annual 384-nautical mile Sydney to Gold Coast Yacht Race, which started in Sydney Harbour at 1pm on Saturday 27th July, 2013.

In 2012 the 30 metre long supermaxi, Wild Oats XI smashed the previous 13 year race record by 5hrs, 31mins and 57secs. Let's see if the maxis can go even faster again in 2013!

The first boats in the fleet are expected to arrive sometime on Sunday afternoon and evening, depending on the weather conditions, an update will be issued from race organisers soon.

Southport Yacht Club will be hosting the finish of the race.
