Route des Princes - Week-end actif et festif à Dùn Laoghaire!

L'East Pier s'est paré de ses plus beaux atours. Manèges pour enfants, expositions et dégustations de produits locaux, concerts, dans le petit port de Dùn Laoghaire, la Route des Princes est l'événement du week-end. Du côté des marins, on répare, on contrôle, on vérifie les bateaux. Demain, la météo annonce de l'air, pour les régates inshore, ça va être sport!

Les équipages de la Route des Princes n’ont pas molli depuis leur arrivée mercredi dans la matinée. Après un court moment de détente à Dublin ou dans la campagne irlandaise, les voilà déjà sur le pont, à peaufiner leur monture. Ce matin Mayeul Riffet (Arkema – Région Aquitaine) est parti à Galway, sur la côte ouest Irlandaise, afin de récupérer le solent réparé par Christophe Cudennec de la voilerie Incidence. Deux grands gennakers (Arkema – Région Aquitaine et Prince de Bretagne) sont actuellement toujours en cours de réparation. Rappelons que les inshores ne comptent pas pour les Multi50 et Prince de Bretagne, ce qui ne les pénalisera pas. Le but est d’être fin prêt lundi pour le départ de la troisième étape de la Route des Princes vers Plymouth ! De leur côté, Oman Air-Musandam et Spindrift profitent des belles conditions du jour pour tirer quelques bords en baie de Dublin.

Regroupés sur les pontons du National Yacht Club, les multicoques sont les stars de Dùn Laoghaire. Ici, on connaît bien la voile et la course au large, ce n’est pas tous les jours que de telles machines de course s’amarrent au port. C’est un véritable événement ! Alors, dès ce soir et tout le week-end, le quai de l’East Pier va vibrer au son des concerts et des animations. Les manches inshore qui se dérouleront très près du port, seront commentées en direct par Ger Owens, champion olympique irlandais en 470. Pour tous, enfants et parents, le spectacle promet d’être grandiose!
