Many sailing fans were disappointed that there was no live coverage from the Rio Olympics from the three courses on the Atlantic Ocean.
To give an idea of the sailing on big Atlantic swells and strong winds, the following photo-montage has been assembled from shots taken on the final leg to the finish of the top three boats in Race 3 of the Mens 470, and loaded to YouTube.
The crews were sailing in 3-4metre swells and winds that were officially recorded at 20-26kts.
These made for very challenging conditions for photography, sorry if some of the shots aren't quite as sharp as they could be in more stable conditions.
