Optimist Training Camp, Eastern Beach, Register Now!

by David Stanton on 1 Dec 2014
Get your Optimist sailing and racing skills up to scratch at the Optimist High Performance training camp Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz

There is a lot coming up next year on the Optimist sailing front, and to help prepare, what better way than to attend this high performance camp.

Improve your Optimist sailing skills, meet new friends, and have a load of fun. Every year, the New Zealand Optimist Dinghy Association organises a live-in camp for Open fleet sailors. The camp will be based at Willow Park in Eastern Beach, Auckland, for 4 nights from 12th to 16th January 2015.

We have a great collection of coaches who will organise on the water boat handling and skills coaching, plus morning and evening land based activities. Finishing up with a mini regatta on the Friday.

This camp is always popular with the sailors, and must be limited to 60 applicants.
Costs includes all accommodation and food.

To enable logistics and planning, applications close 5th December 2014, and the successful applicants will be advised. So please act now to secure your place.

Also, coming up during the Volvo Round the World stopover in March, is the Volvo Optimist Training Academy. To be eligible for that event, you must have attended the Eastern Beach Camp or the South Island Optimist Camp in December.

Go now to http://optimist.org.nz/ to register.
