Never really at ease hen the spotlight is on him, Francis Joyon admits he has not really been looking back. Francis Joyon and the crew of the IDEC SPORT maxi-trimaran, Clément Surtel, Alex Pella, Bernard Stamm, Gwénolé Gahinet, with just Sébastien Audigane missing, received the Jules Verne Trophy, the amazing sculpture which seems to float in the air created by the American Thomas Shannon, in the very prestigious Naval Museum (Musée de la Marine) in Paris.

RC44 Sotogrande Cup – Rain does not stay on the plain
Rain of Old Testament magnitude descended on Spain's Costa del Sol for day two. While the wind was not excessive Even as RC44 crews and race management surfaced for their breakfast this morning, it was evident that the onshore easterly breeze, that had been blowing all night, had caused the sea state to build to the extent that waves were already breaking over the harbour wall.

Conrad Colman to speak at fundraiser in Auckland on May 19
Colman will be the guest speaker at a fundraiser for the NZL Sailing Team to compete at this year's Red Bull Youth AC Conrad Colman's story of perserverence, danger and ingenuity in the 2016/17 Vendee Globe race astonished the sailing world and now you have a chance to hear from the solo sailor first-hand at a fundraising dinner in Auckland on May 19. Colman recently became the first Kiwi to finish the Vendee Globe solo round-the-world yacht race but it was the story of how he did it that captured audiences.
