Light winds prevailed for the first day of the 2014 Jack Tar Auckland Cup, sailed off Eastern Beach Saturday.
Two races were sailed in winds of 5-7kts.
In Class A, the TP52 Mayhem (Harry Dodson) took line honours in both races, with the 52fter Georgia (Jim Farmer) placing second. Another TP52 Kia Kaha finished third in the first race with Wired placing third in the second race of the day.
In Class B, the Elliott 35SS, Crusader was the top performer placing seocnd over the line in the first race, and took the gun in Race 2.
Stronger winds are predicted for Sunday, from an easterly direction.
