London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition - At the last meeting of the ISAF Executive Committee in May 2012 the Olympic Movement Medical Code was adopted.

This Code specifies the rights and duties of athletes and health personnel as far as treatment and best medical practices are concerned. Click here for the code.

IOC Anti-Doping Rules
The IOC Anti-Doping Rules applicable to the Games of the XXX Olympiad, London 2012 is here.

The Period of the London Olympic Games is from 16 July 2012 up to and including the day of the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games - 12 August 2012.

For the purposes of the Prohibited List, the period of the London Olympic Games shall be treated as 'In-Competition'. The 2012 Prohibited List is applicable.

All athletes shall be subject to doping controls initiated by the IOC at any time or place with no advance notice required to be given to the athletes during the period of the London Olympic Games.

Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs): Athletes with a documented medical condition requiring the use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method must first obtain a TUE.

It is expected that most athletes entered to compete in the London Olympic Games who require a TUE will have already received the TUE from ISAF or their relevant Anti-Doping Organisation in accordance with ISAF rules. Please make sure this has happened.

Whereabouts Information: The IOC will not ask all athletes to provide whereabouts information but will rather rely upon the existing Registered Testing Pools (e.g. of the International Federations and the National Anti-Doping Organisations) to get the whereabouts information on athletes participating in the 2012 London Olympic Games (Articles 4.5.1.1 and 4.5.1.2 London ADR).

It should be noted that: For those athletes who are not in an RTP, the IOC will ask that their NOCs to provide rooming lists and training schedules (Article 4.5.1.3 London ADR). In case an athlete who is not in an RTP is not where the rooming list or the training schedule says the athlete will be, there will be no sanction taken against that athlete, except if a case of 'refusing or failing with compelling justification to submit to Sample collection' (Article 2.3 of the World Anti-Doping Code ('Code') can be proven.

Testing: It is important that all athletes are aware they may be subject to both urine and blood testing as part of ISAF's Anti-Doping ISAF Official Olympics website
