Sail-World's camera was on the water for the final day of the Stack Interior's Tauranga Cup sailed in the iconic P-class, which has played a vital part in the development of New Zealand sailors who have gone on to achieve in many aspects of the sport from design, to the Olympics, America's Cup, Volvo Ocean race and ISAF Youth Worlds.
Forty four sailors competed in the open championship, many of those have already made their mark on the sport even though they are only in the early teens - or in one case, just 9 years old.
For those who wonder why New Zealand can punch so much above its weight on the international sailing scene, much of the answer lies in these images extrapolated into all those who have sailed the mighty P class since its inception in 1940.
