If you happen to be out for a walk on Dun Laoghaire pier over the next couple of weeks, you may need to do a double take as the bay will be a bustle of activity with Canadian, Kiwi, and British youth sailors.
The sailors will be familiarising themselves with the local conditions as they train for the ISA Mitsubishi Youth National Championships which will be taking place from the 12th to the 15th of April.
The ISA Youth Nationals is only the 'warm up' event for the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth World Championships which are being held in Dun Laoghaire in July. However, it is a small taste of what is to come.
Irish sailors will be taking full advantage of the increased competition for their national championships which has attracted so many foreign teams this year. While the teams will tend to do private training in the morning it is envisaged all will join forces in the afternoon for practice races.
