What a great turnout at the Hartley 16 North Islands last weekend at Lake Ngaroto with 17 boats having some of the closest racing ever seen.
The class is certainly in good heart when we can keep building numbers like we are.
Congratulations to New Plymouth’s 'Tight Fit' Alan Holdt & Wayne Julian on winning the event with Manukau’s 'Shaking Laundry' Robin Williams & Derick Hickman in second place and New Plymouth’s 'Simply Red' Jason Holdt & Todd Birrell in third.
The new Ranking Handicap trophy donated by class stalwart Ian Cameron was won by the Wellington boat 'Bender' Paul Davies & Steve Cowper.
A big thanks to the Ngaroto Sailing Club for their amazing hospitality which all crews really enjoyed.
This regatta was also the first of 5 regattas making up a new travellers series for the class, with the next regatta at Napier on the 23-24 November.
