GP14 World Championship - Racing abandoned day 2

by Justin Chisholm on 6 Aug 2008
Racing was abandoned on the Goacher Sails sponsored Day Two at the GP14 World Championship 2008 at SCYC, Abersoch.

Fifteen to eighteen knots of breeze combined with thick mist and rain greeted the one hundred and seven teams competing in the G.P.14 World Championship 2008, when they arrived for the Goacher Sails sponsored Day Two of the Championship this morning. With the visibility down to less than half a mile, Principal Race Officer Barry McGill made an early decision to abandon the scheduled two races in the hope of better conditions tomorrow.

Reigning World Champions Ian Dobson and Andy Tunnicliffe from Burwain SC, lead the regatta with a perfect two first’s scoreline. In second overall are Neil Platt and Jane Alexander from West Kirby SC ahead of former World Champions Neil Marsden and Derek Hill from Blackpool & Fleetwood YC in third place.
