by Sail-World.com NZL on 16 Dec 2015
John Martin of the Island Cruising Association has joined Doyle Sails New Zealand Doyle Sails NZ
Doyle Sails have announced that John Martin of the Island Cruising Association (ICA) has joined the Doyle NZ team.

Dividing his time between the Bay of Islands and the South West Pacific John will be working with Bay of Islands rep Peter Boyd to ensure smooth sail service for all our cruising customers, including fast service turnarounds for yachts based away from New Zealand.

'John's is a familiar name to all in the cruising yacht community and is a real asset to the team, helping us to further increase our support for the cruising fleet both here in New Zealand and in the wider South Pacific,' says Chris McMaster, Managing Director of Doyle Sails New Zealand. 'Our South Pacific presence is now bigger than ever before and will ensure a strong support network for Doyle cruising boats wherever they are based'

'This move takes my existing relationship with Doyle Sails New Zealand to the next level,' says Martin. 'I have complete faith in the product and it was logical for me to take this step and join the Doyle team; I am looking forward to working closely with Doyle customers.'

Having begun cruising in 1994 with his family aboard Windflower a 13.5m cutter rigged sloop the Martin's first offshore trip in 1995 took them to Tonga and Fiji and since then have put over 80,00miles under Windflower’s keel. Adding to these miles is another 40,000 delivery miles as crew and skipper. Together with wife Lyn John run rallies, seminars, training programs and cruising events around the SW Pacific and SE Asia, including the annual Doyle Pacific series rallies and the very popular biannual Doyle Pacific Circuit Rally.
