Sailors have arrived in beautiful Aarhus, Denmark at the Kaløvig Sailing Club to contest the 2013 World Championship. Twenty-five nations are representing all continents with 216 entries in what will be a highly competitive fleet.

Many of the competitors are coming straight from the ISAF Youth Worlds just concluded in Cyprus including ISAF Youth World gold, silver and bronze medalists Luca Rual/Emilie Amoros (FRA), Ida Svensson/Rasmus Rosengren (SWE) and Markus Somerville/Jack Simpson (NZL).

The current 29er World Champions Spanish sailors Carlos Robles and Florian Trittel have moved up to the 49er with many of the female teams now training in the FX, eleven of the top twenty from the 2012 Worlds are here to contest the title.

You can never count out the local teams of which there are twenty-eight, who have been sailing in these waters most of their lives and will undoubtedly bring some surprises to the competition.

Jens Villumsen, Chairman of the 29er Worlds, commented, 'Kaløvig Sailing Club and Sailing Aarhus are excited to have the level of competition at the 29er Worlds and we welcome all the competitors from the various nations. This will be an exciting event for competitors and spectators alike.'

Racing begins on Sunday, July 28 with three days of the qualifying series followed by three days of the final series. The prizegiving will be held on Friday, 2nd August. 29er Worlds website
