Musto presents new Lifestyle Collection

by Tracey Porter on 11 Jan 2011
Musto’s Lifestyle range will appeal to a more fashion savvy market, as well as traditionalists. Musto Australasia www.musto.com
Distinctive men’s and women’s marine lifestyle label, Musto has forged a new direction with the launch of its highly sought-after autumn/winter 2011 collection next month.

Targeting a more style-savvy audience than in previous seasons, the new range is Musto’s most versatile collection yet, offering everything from city smart pea coats to technical all-weather jackets.

Drawing influence from Musto’s strong nautical heritage, the range relies heavily on coastal silhouettes with new graphics based around technical yacht drawings that – when added with twill patches and embroideries – clearly embody the signature of the season.

Musto’s design team has worked hard at adding more diversity into its menswear offering with its shirt program this season offering three distinctive styles; slim fit, regular fit and classic fit across stripes, checks and plains. Shirts now boast a distinctive Musto identity throughout with innovative and contemporary detailing including tick stitching on pockets, contrast cuff and collar detailing and clever use of the signature Musto boat logo on all shirt tails and gussets.

Also on offer from a male perspective is lightweight knitwear in soft cotton cashmere blends, winter coats – some with duck down and feather insulation to keep away the winter chill – as well as Musto’s timeless sweats and fleeces constructed from its reliable Polartec fabrications.

For women this season the news is just as good. The waterproof mac is shaping up as the key hit of the season and one that when teamed with the Breton boat neck jumper and straight leg jeans, completes a statement outfit. A prime example of Musto’s technical expertise, the garment is fully taped and includes light quilted wadding in the lining for additional warmth.

Other key pieces for the fairer sex include soft relaxed shirting (garment washed), in checks and stripes; soft brush backed flexes in both zipped and hoodie styles; long sleeved henley tops with scoop necks in stripes and plains and fine gauge cotton cashmere knits in both scoop and v-neck styles. For the traditionalist followers Musto has also included a range of updated knits and rugbys, restyled for the new season.

Based around a colour palette of deep purple, flash red, ecru, navy and white, sizes for Musto Lifestyle’s A/W 2011 collection range from S to XXL for men and from 8 to 18 for women. Recommended retail prices for the range – available from leading boutiques and chandleries across Australia and New Zealand – start at $99 for polos, $149 for shirts and rugbys and around $400 for jackets.
