Northern Beaches-based brand Musto has once again proved its dominance of the marine apparel sector after being named the official clothing partner of the 2011 Rolex Farr 40 World Championship.

The agreement will see Musto partner with event organisers the International Farr 40 Class Association and the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron to produce a limited edition range of exclusive Farr 40 Worlds merchandise to be sold onsite and via the competition website.

This appointment comes just days after Musto was named official clothing sponsor of the BMW Auckland Regatta for the fourth consecutive year and means the Farr 40 Worlds organisers will join Musto’s burgeoning sponsorship portfolio which includes winning 2010 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race crew Secret Mens Business, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, the Sydney International Boat Show, the Ocean Mentor Youth Sailing Program and the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s Wellington Spirit crew, among others.

Staged for the second time in Australia, the Farr 40 Worlds - which will be run out of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron February 23 to 26 - will see a fleet of around 20 one design boats compete offshore off Sydney Heads and on Sydney Harbour to secure the coveted world championship, the World Cup.

Musto managing director Duncan Curnow said Musto’s recognised pedigree in outfitting crews and officials had been a big growth area for the business in recent years and as such, this assignment fitted in perfectly with the brand’s efforts to support all aspects of the sport.

'We are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious regatta, the fact that we also get to partner with best practice event organisers is really just the icing on the cake,' Mr Curnow said.

About Musto: Established in 1965 by British Olympic sailing medalist Keith Musto, the Musto brand has revolutionised the technical outdoor clothing sector. In recent years Musto has also added equestrian, shooting and fashion arms to its core range, building on its reputation as a brand synonymous with quality, durability and reliability. Today Musto, which was recently awarded two Royal Warrants for its long-standing service to the Royal Household, is sold across more than 20 countries globally.
