Mini boats a hit with the boat show dreamer market

It was a great showcase for big boats, and the smallest boats at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Clive Raharuhi from Concept Hobbies not only sold out of his show stock of remote-controlled boats, his store nearby was cleared out by visitors on their way home from the event.

'We were in the best spot,' he said referring to the new 'Adrenaline Area', where JetLev and Jet Surf demonstrations were held. 'It was high traffic, and with the ability to demonstrate our boats on water. We must have sold close to 100 units, from $75 to $800. It was a great show all round and people were really upbeat.'

Concept Hobbies' boats range from small electric through to larger, petrol fueled speedboats. 'The larger boats are capable of speeds up to 80km/h, which is very impressive for the crowds. The demonstrations put the boats through their paces and prove to people all the claims on the box! They bring them to life!'

Concept Hobbies at Helensvale, adjacent to Hope Island, specializes in remote controlled models, from jets and helicopters to onroad and offroad vehicles, prestige sportscars and a myriad of toys for every skill level, from beginner to expert, as well as accessories and spares.

To test your skills and gain some virtual experience before you take off, take control of the helicopters and aircrafts onscreen on their computer flight simulators.

There’s a dedicated workshop for all repairs and occasional 'drift days' that will eventually become monthly, for all the mini-revv heads out there.

'We will definitely be back for Sanctuary Cove Boat Show next year,' said Clive. 'It would have to be our best show anywhere.'
