Marine and Composites Industry Career Day set for March 22

by Cynthia Goss on 14 Feb 2014
SW
The Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA) and IYRS School of Technology and Trades will host the ninth Annual Marine and Composites Industry Career Day on Saturday, March 22.

This one-day event, which is free to the public, will draw industry experts and employers who come to this annual Career Day with one goal in mind: to connect with individuals with the skills and aptitude for marine and composites careers. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet employers from throughout New England and New York, including builders of boats and composites structures, manufacturers, boat yards and marinas, and marine service providers.

The event includes two seminars—on winning job-search tactics, and on the evolving state of marine technology and its skills requirements. New this year is a Training Center, where attendees can learn how to gain the in-demand skills to launch careers in these two industries. Career Day runs from 10:30 am to 1 pm on the Newport campus of IYRS.
