MOD70 European Tour - Spindrift Racing tops leaderboard

by Spindrift Racing on 15 Sep 2012
Spindrift racing (MOD70) skippered by Yann Guichard from France, during the Cascais City races of the MOD70 European Tour 2012 Chris Schmid/Spindrift Racing
The MOD70 European Tour 2012 overall leader of the provisional ranking after their brilliant win in Leg 2, Yann Guichard and crew entered yesterdays first City Matches in Cascaïs with a strong will to live up to their reputation.

The pressure is on as all MOD70 crews also keep on improving race after race. Musandam Oman Sail (Sidney Gavignet) secured their first win in the entire competition during race three, and Race for Water (Stève Ravussin) showed some serious winning capacities. The going gets tougher for Spindrift Racing who managed to stay up front, except in the last race when an early start ruined Guichard’s chances to end up on a winning note. Overall, not a bad day considering Foncia’s disappointing fifth place. Light breezes are expecting all through the week end, and tight races are expected. Concentration, inspiration… and a bit of luck are the keys to stay in front in Cascaïs.

Spindrift Racing crew in Cascaïs: Yann Guichard, Jacques Guichard, Pascal Bidégorry, Yann Eliès, Thierry Douillard, Jean-Baptiste Levaillant, Devan le Bihan and Kévin Escoffier
