Marine Equipment Trade Show, in Amsterdam every November
This year’s Show, dubbed METS to those in the know, saw record attendance of 20,500 people during its three-day run, an encouraging figure compared to the 19,617 people who attended last year's event. Exhibitor numbers were also up from 1,318 in 2012 to 1,320 this year.
'A rise in attendance of over five per cent compared to 2012 is very good news for everyone connected to METS and the global maritime supply industry,' says METS domain manager Irene Dros. 'We also had a couple more exhibitors than last year and more country pavilions than ever. The various conferences and meetings also attracted huge numbers, adding to the positive vibe and genuine sense of good business being conducted.
'We are very proud it has been a record-breaking event and grateful to our exhibitors and visitors for reinforcing the reputation of METS as an unmissable exhibition.'
The show opened on Tuesday with a keynote speech by Brunswick chairman and CEO Dusty McCoy, followed by the DAME Awards, with Sleipner Motor’s new Vector fin stablizers picking up the overall prize.
