The Mens Two handed Keelboat (Star) held some practice racing today, the day before the Sailing Olympics

Only one race, well part of one, was held on the outside course on Weymouth Bay. As is usual with practice racing most of the fleet pulled out after the end of the second beat, of the three lap race. Racing was staged in a fresh southwesterly breeze in small waves.

Current Olympic champions, Iain Percy and Bart Simpson, were in fine form and were at the front of the three boats that rounded the top mark and kept racing, but pulled out when the rest of the fleet sailed through the top mark and headed for the marina.
