All racing was cancelled today, Thursday, in the 2012 Olympic Regatta at Weymouth.
Around 1000hrs local time, two hours ahead if the scheduled start for racing, the decision was taken to postpone racing with the possibility that it could get underway later in the day.
The postponement flag was dropped for the Womens Match Racing - in the early afternoon, but no racing was held.
But around 1500hrs the decision was announced that there would be no racing at all for the day, and today's racing would be held over until tomorrow, Friday when there is expected to be a good breeze, albeit from an easterly direction.
The first scheduled event is the 470 Mens Medal Race at 1200hrs, followed by the 470 Womens Medal Race at 1300hrs.
The Womens Match Racing will resume at the conclusion of those two finals, and will continue on Saturday, the last day of the Regatta.
Strong winds are expected for Saturday, with some shelter being provided from the Easterly winds by the Nothe.
