Today is finals day at the Monsoon Cup, being sailed on Pulau Duyong, Terengganu Malaysia.

This morning, the sea breeze failed to arrive on schedule and the first match of the knockout 'sail-offs' for fifth to eight places, between Torvar Mirsky and Adam Minoprio was a drifter in 0-5 knots.

After a short postponement the breeze kicked in and is building. Sailing recommenced, with Mirsky going on to beat Mathieu Richard in a close match. Radich and Minoprio were out on the course, Radich carrying a penalty and trying desperately to force the young Kiwi skipper into a penalty situation. Minoprio held on to take the match.

Final Positions 5-8:

5th - Torvar Mirsky
6th - Mathieu Richard
7th - Adam Minoprio
8th - Jesper Radich

Finals action will commence shortly.
