Jack Sherring is Youth Moth World and Australian Champion

Jack Sherring, a 15-year-old sailor representing Southport Yacht Club, has completed a remarkable double – victory in the youth divisions of both the World and Australian Moth class championships sailed on Lake Macquarie, NSW.
Making the impressive result even more commendable is the fact that Jack achieved this success after taking the big step up from a Sabot youth training dinghy straight into the high performance hydrofoil Moths. Some of the world’s best sailors, including Olympians and America’s Cup competitors, contested the championships.
His father, Brian, puts Jack’s result down to an exceptional amount of dedicated training.
