The first image of the J/88 decked hull has been released in the last few days with the anticipation for the launch mounting.
J/88 decked hull
This week, the hull will move into final assembly and have its keel installed. Hull numbers two and three are underway and the J/88 line is taking shape alongside the J/70 and J/111 lines at the CCF Composites facility in Bristol, RI.
The whole industry is keyed up for the launch, with the nominated riggers, hardware manufacturers, sailmakers and furnishers preparing for the first set of sea trials.
The J/88 will make its International Boat Show Debut on the Key Yachting marina berths at Southampton from 13th – 22nd September, after which the boat will be available for trial sails in the Solent.
The J/88 will be a 29’ family performance boat with stability, style and sailing comfort. J Boats say she’s of the same breed as the J/70 and J/111, both of which have proven their worth on the international racecourse. The J/88 will fit nicely into J Boat’s performance sprit range – being large enough to provide the creature comforts of a sit-in cockpit, inboard diesel, overnighting interior and head; and small enough to be single-point lifted, owner-trailered and stored.
