Camper came close to taking a last second victory on the fourth leg, after charging up the Rangitoto Channel and then continuing at full pace once inside the Waitemata Harbour and heading for the finish off the Viaduct Harbour.

The margins were more of what is expected on a Wednesday night race than one that has taken almost 20 days and 5,000 nautical miles. As expected Camper attracted the biggest support fleet.
