Following last week’s launch of the ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne Olympic class entries, the Notice of Race is now online and entries are now being accepted for the Sail Melbourne Invited Classes.
This combined event is the second regatta of the 2013-2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup series and will be organised by Yachting Victoria at Sandringham Yacht Club in Melbourne, from the first-8th December 2013.
The 2013 Sail Melbourne Invited Classes have been confirmed as; Laser Radial Men, Laser 4.7, Men and Women’s Kiteboard, Viper, 420, 29er, Optimist, OK dinghy, 2.4R, SKUB18, Liberty Access and Cadet dinghy.
Event Director and Olympic Gold Medallist Mark Turnbull commented today ‘'Sail Melbourne has a proud history of supporting many youth and feeder classes to the Olympic and Paralympic fleets.
Allowing competitors of all abilities the opportunity to race and socialise alongside their Olympic heroes at an ISAF Grade 1 event.'
'This year, in response to feedback from many sailors, we have compressed some of the invited class programs, allowing more people to get involved at this busy time in the school and pre-Christmas period. We are looking forward to welcoming sailors from around Australia and the Oceanic region to Melbourne to enjoy some great sailing on the Port Phillip waters alongside the Olympic class sailors from around the world as they step up their campaigns for Rio 2016'.
