How to run a match race regatta seminar - Oakcliff Sailing Oakcliff Sailing
The purpose of this seminar is to educate interested participants on the basics of how to organize, coordinate and run a successful Match Race Regatta.
Why attend
The seminar will be open to all experienced race officers and race organizers. RC or event experience will not be required to attend this seminar, but the seminar will assume participants have the basic skills and knowledge required for a running a club race level regatta event.
• The Organizing Authority: Its Event Organization responsibilities Publicity, Equipment Preparation, Competitor Selection, Umpire and Race Committee Selection and Race Documents.
• The Umpires: The Chief Umpires responsibility including Umpire selection, Event preparation, On the Water Umpiring, Debriefs, and special equipment needs.
• The Race Committee: Their responsibilities: including Race Committee selection, special RC equipment, Course Layout, and unique Scoring tools.
• The Competitor: Review their expectations and goals for coming to the event, including sailing venue, boats provided, breakdown support, onshore events, ISAF rankings and trophy awards.
• Anyone interested in volunteering for the Oakcliff Race Committee may want an overview of the whole process.
