HEAVEN CAN WAIT-WAITS FOR NOBODY.
by Ian Grant on 16 Aug 2000
Veteran Blue Water yacht racing owner Warren Johns classified his modified sloop Heaven Can Wait as a rocket ship when he stepped on the dock at Hayman Island today.
That look of satisfaction has returned to the weathered face of the popular old salt when Heaven Can Wait cleverly helmed by former Australian Flying Dutchman class Olympian Jamie Wilmot scored he fifth line honours win in the Joico Big Boat Series.
Johns a normally a modest owner who simply enjoys yacht racing for the love of the sport proclaimed Heaven Can Wait was up to 3.5 knots faster with her new profile.
"She is a totally different yacht, there is that feel of real speed when fully powered up in 12-15 knots".
"Were still coming to terms with mastering the full potential, but I'm pleased with the results so far" Johns Said.
Heaven Can Wait enters the final race of the week long series tomorrow with a commanding 1-1-1-1-2-1 stranglehold on the Joico Big Boat series line honours title which is the reason why the gentleman of blue water yacht racing Warren Johns has a real spring in his wet deckies.
