Grandparents & Grandkids Sailing-What a Neat Idea!

by BW Media on 5 Oct 2008
What a good idea! SW
It's happening next July 2009, so you have plenty of time to prepare. It's happening in the Caribbean, so you have plenty to dream about. The whole family will love you for it, and you'll have the best fun you could imagine. What is it?It's a Sailing Rally for Grandparents and their grandchildren.

Taking the grandchildren sailing is a win/win - you'll get to have fun with the grandchildren, the kids will never think you're boring again, Mum and Dad will be glad of the break, and the kids will have other kids to hang out with. There's only one thing that could top that, and that's if you took the parents sailing as well.

Grands Adventure announced today that the new, themed, family adventure vacation to be run by the company will be a week-long sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands. The dates for the event are July 11 through 19, 2009.

Grands Adventure founder Jerry Baltes said, 'The Grands Adventure is a great way for grandparents to spend quality time with their grandchildren and families. There is nothing healthier and more fun than sailing together aboard a comfortable sailing yacht among the beautiful islands of the Caribbean.'

The Grands Adventure will be a sailing flotilla operated by Sunsail Yachts, the world's largest sailing vacation company. Families will sign on for private cabins aboard the fleet of luxury sailing charter boats. Those with sailing experience can sign on for their own bareboat while those without experience will sail with an experienced skipper.

The week-long sailing vacation will take the flotilla from Road Town, Tortola, to the Bitter End Resort on Virgin Gorda. The sailing is easy and the weather mild. Along the way, families will have the opportunity to swim off white sand beaches, learn to snorkel and scuba dive, explore the famous Baths and enjoy pleasant meals at rustic beachside restaurants. From the Bitter End, families will be able to visit the remote island of Anegada, known as the shipwreck capital of the Caribbean, for diving, swimming and a lobster feast.

Baltes noted, 'The week will be full of fun and we will have events for everyone. Plus we will have several family-style beach parties as part of the program.'

The Grands Adventure in the Caribbean is sponsored by GrandParents.com and Blue Water Sailing magazine. The event has been endorsed by Sail.

Pivot on this
I despise the way ‘pivot' got used as many times as those wretched QR codes... Yes indeed. As much as I would hate to take people back to the COVID era, that's exactly what I've just done. Making that problematic trip back in time look good, is how much I despise the way ‘pivot' got used as many times as those wretched QR codes.
