Gold Coast International Marine Expo - NAB customers the big winners

by Emma Milne on 14 Oct 2014
The Expo a massive showcase of "all things aquatic" from October 17-19 is shaping up as the biggest and best yet Emma Milne
National Australia Bank customers will receive priority treatment at the 2014 Gold Coast International Marine Expo after striking a milestone partnership deal with event organisers.

The Expo – a massive showcase of ‘all things aquatic’ from October 17-19 – is shaping up as the biggest and best yet, with a record list of new product releases and an action-packed program of live demonstrations and family fun attractions.

Event and Marketing Manager Emma Milne said NAB’s support reflects the bank’s commitment to both the marine industry and the Gold Coast economy.

'In just four years, Expo has cemented its place as a key event on the marine industry and recreational activity calendar and NAB has come on board as an event partner and will continue to play a role in our phenomenal growth,' said Ms Milne.

'This three-day event injects millions of dollars into Gold Coast businesses and there are fantastic flow-on effects for their employees and their families.'

NAB customers will receive priority entry through the Expo gates simply by showing their NAB credit or bank cards at Australia’s only 'Working Boat Show’, which features a massive array of everything from super yachts and jet skis to kayaks and fishing equipment and everything in between.

Ms Milne said the partnership with NAB was a major milestone for the Expo, the first formal ‘event partnership’ in its four-year history.

'We really appreciate NAB’s support and look forward to working with them to help the event realise its full potential,' she said.

Expo is an event for the marine industry, by the marine industry and gives visitors the best chance to get all they need to get afloat before the summer and Christmas holidays.

And it’s going to be a whole lot of fun!

Ms Milne said the program included live demonstrations and fun attractions every 15 minutes across this year’s even bigger Expo site.

'We will have an extreme high-diving show three times daily, cooking demonstrations, a fish-eye view of life beneath the water with the Yamaha Super Tank, as well as the world, Australian and Queensland product premieres for a wide range of boats, personal watercraft, accessories, innovative technology and gadgets – all aimed at helping people make the most out of their time on the water this summer.

'We also have a fantastic list of family attractions – for dads, mums and the kids.'

The not-for-profit Expo – at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct in Coomera – will again offer free on-site parking. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for seniors, and children under the age of 15 years are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds help raise money for the Expo's four beneficiary charities: Sailability Gold Coast, Sea World Research and Rescue Foundation, Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service and Rotary Club of Coomera River – organisations which volunteer their time at Expo to help make it such a great success.

Avoid the queues and pre-purchase your tickets online, and be in with a chance to win a Sirocco Alloy RIB boat with 2.3hp Honda four-stroke outboard, courtesy of Sirocco Marine North.

'These inflatable boats are great runabouts and tenders and open up a whole world of fun on the water – they have performance, stability and safety, matched with the lighter weight of an alloy hull. Our thanks go to Sirocco Marine North for their ongoing support for Expo,' Ms Milne said.
